Anzac Day Service

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.

That verse never fails to move me. My father served in the Middle East in WWII - he'd never talk much about it, but the few (serious) things he did say were pretty horrific. I bought a photo of him from the Australian War Memorial Museum - unlike the photos the men had taken to send home to their families, you could see by the state of his uniform how bad their living conditions were.

War is barbaric - and pointless. It solves nothing. I will never forgive the dessicated little coconut for getting involved in the atrocity in Iraq. Nor Kimbo for that matter - he was quite happy to join in. The US has turned into the Russia of cold war days. I could go on forever, but I can feel my blood pressure rising. Thank you for posting the photo and verse.
