Lessons learnt from zeebee

Garter stitch is not as easy as it looks.

Garter stitch gauge is deceptive and sneaky.

Short rows are harder to read in garter stitch

It's harder to read your knitting in garter stitch.

Grafting is not fun in garter stitch.

Dropping down several rows to fix problems is a hassle in
garter stitch.

Remembering short rows in garter stitch is hard when the knitter has the attention span of a gnat.

Zeebee - a garter stitch hat that in brooklyntweed's hands looks exquisite and simple.

The beanie looks great, Kate (no rhyme intended). That could be my little grandson sitting there, totally devoted to his game boy or whatever. I had a lookat the Zeebee pattern - it looks very interesting - after I finish the Sidewinder socks (ha ha) I'm going to give it a go. I grafted my first toes together on the long socks, and I'm very impressed with how relatively easy it is to do.
Stay warm

The hat looks great & I love the garter stitch(despite your problems with it) - anyway, we always learn something new!

Garter stitch is easy to knit and requires no thinking while doing other activities!

Garter stitch rows are generally faster to knit than a similar number of stocking stitch rows! :-)

The hat looks great and I'm sure your FO will be just as good. By the way, your Vintage Hues jacket looked great yesterday - looks lovely and warm.
